EMERGING CRICKETER IN INDIAN CRICKET (VIRAT KOHLI)

Virat Kohli the typical modern-day cricketer, Virat Kohli plays his game aggressively, bares his emotions loudly in public, yet retains the element of maturity that forms an integral part of every good and great player. He is also the world cup winning captain of the under 19 cricket team and also member of the world cup winning team in 2011.Kohli after winning the under 19 got carried away with his success and walked in the wrong path and many commented on him saying that he is arrogant as kohli struggled to balance his career and the adultation that came with the success .But some introspection and the expert guidance from the indian senior members allowed kohli to bounce back.Today he had transformed into a most dependable indian batsman in the india's middle order and also the best indian batsman in chasing .
His defensive technique is organised, he is an accomplished strokeplayer all round the wicket - his timing on the legside is especially silken - and he relishes performing when the pressure is on.
He is an important presence in the indian world cup triumph where he scored a century in the world cup opener and his patience 35 in the world cup final which helped to build a third wicket patrnership with gambhir which lead india to rebuild after the early loss of the openers.
After that when india toured australia all other indian batsman struggled to make runs but he is the only person to score a century in the whole test series. After that when india was almost out of the  CB series he scored a rocking 86 ball unbeaten 133 which helped india to chase down a target of 320 in under 40 overs.Much was excpected from him when his took place of v.v.s laxman.
His gung-ho attitude, his youthful charm and his aggression have also made him the mascot of his IPL team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli has repaid the franchise by helping Bangalore reach the finals of the 2009 and 2011 IPL seasons and then almost single-handedly taking them to the title clash in the 2011 Champions League Twenty20. He was handed the Royal Challengers Bangalore' captaincy for the 2013 IPL season, with the intention of grooming him as the future captain of India. He is also the awarded in 2012 as icc ODI player of the year and peoples choice award for favorite sports person of the year .On 10 th august 2013 he is also given the Arjuna Award.
Many of the former crickters are of an opinion that kohli is the future captain of indian cricket.
Tendulkar also commented in an interview that "virat kohli is the player who can brake the records of my career".

LEGEND OF CRICKET

SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR

The name requires no introduction to the fans of cricket .In india cricket is a religion and sachin is recognized as god .He is nicknamed as Tendalya and little master .Perhaps the most complete batsman and the most worshipped cricketer in the world, Tendulkar holds just about every batting record worth owning in the game, including those for most runs and hundreds in Tests and ODIs, and most international runs.Sachin Tendulkar has been the most complete batsman of his time, the most prolific runmaker of all time, and arguably the biggest cricket icon the game has ever known. His batting is based on the purest principles: perfect balance, economy of movement, precision in stroke-making, and that intangible quality given only to geniuses - anticipation. If he doesn't have a signature stroke - the upright, back-foot punch comes close - it is because he is equally proficient at each of the full range of orthodox shots (and plenty of improvised ones as well) and can pull them out at will.

There are no apparent weaknesses in Tendulkar's game. He can score all around the wicket, off both front foot and back, can tune his technique to suit every condition, temper his game to suit every situation, and has made runs in all parts of the world in all conditions.
some of the finest perfomance in his carrier as 19 year old guy scored century on the lightning fast pitch of  waca which is on of the best innings in his career.
Blessed with the keenest of cricket minds, and armed with a loathing for losing, Tendulkar set about doing what it took to become one of the best batsmen in the world. His greatness was established early: he was only 16 when he made his Test debut. He was hit on the mouth by Waqar Younis but continued to bat, in a blood-soaked shirt. His first Test hundred, a match-saving one at Old Trafford, came when he was 17, and he had 16 Test hundreds before he turned 25. In 2000 he became the first batsman to have scored 50 international hundreds, in 2008 he passed Brian Lara as the leading Test run-scorer, and in the years after, he went past 13,000 Test runs 30,000 international runs, and 50 Test hundreds.
He currently holds the record for most hundreds in both Tests and ODIs - remarkable, considering he didn't score his first ODI hundred till his 79th match. Incredibly, he retains a divine enthusiasm for the game: at 36 years and 306 days he broke a 40-year-old barrier by scoring the first double-century in one-day cricket. In 2012, when just one month short of his 39th birthday, he became the first player to score 100 international centuries, which like Bradman's batting average, could be a mark that lasts for ever. Later that year, though, he announced his retirement from ODIs after a disappointing 18 months in international cricket.
They are also many other players like vinod kambali who is best friend of tendulkar who is hilghly talented than tendulkar who made debut to the indian cricket has tasted success but got carried away with success which lead to ruin his career.but sachin still plays because of the commitment, dedication and passion towards the game .even in the modern T2O game he has adaptoed to the game and scoring equally with the young stars of modern game.
He almost played 198 tests in his test career  and scored about 51 centuries and about 15837 runs.
QUOTES ABOUT TENDULKAR BY VARIOUS CRICKETERS
He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also."--Waqar Younis, former Pakistan fast bowler.
"There are two kind of batsmen in the world. One Sachin Tendulkar. Two all the others."
-Andy Flower, former Zimbabwe cricketer.
"The joy he brings to the millions of his countrymen, the grace with which he handles all the adulation and the expectations and his innate humility - all make for a one-in-a-billion individual".
-Glen McGrath, Aussie fast bowler who always bowled well against Sachin Tendulkar.
"We did not lose to a team called India...we lost to a man called Sachin."
-Mark Taylor, Australian captain in 1998 when his team lost Chennai test as Tendulkar scored 155 unbeaten runs in second innings, smashing star spinner Shane Warne all around Chepauk.
"I can be hundred per cent sure that Sachin will not play for a minute longer when he is not enjoying himself. He is still so eager to go out there and play. He will play as long as he feels he can play".
-Anjali Tendulkar, Sachin's wife.
"I have seen god. he bats at no.4 for India."-Mathew Hayden, former Australia cricketer.
MY VIEW ABOUT TENDULKAR
In my view he is the best cricketer who cannot be replaced by any one in the world cricket. The commitment, dedication and his passion towards the game took him to the highest stage.inspite of his success he never showed the superior feeling and he is one of the few cricketers who has a clean record with out any issues in and outside the filed. His presence in the dressing rooms gives immense confidence to the players and creates fear in the opposition dressing room. The commitment which allowed him to continue for such a long period of time i e around  24 years .
even today when he walks in to bat there are lot of expectations on him to perform.
But one fact every tendulkar fan should remember that he will retire some day .where we cannot see the fabulos shots that come out of his bat
Even when he is at the time of bad patches in his career many commented on him saying that its time for him to retire but he never said a word to those who commented on him but answered all there questions by scoring runs with the bat . In this occasion i would like to share an incident between brad hogg and tendulkar in the series between ind vs aus .Brad hogg has picked the wicket of tendulkar in the match .After the match hogg asked tendulkar to sign the ball .tendulkar signed the ball and replied him that he would never loose my wicket in your bowling.after the statement both faced each other about 21 times but Sachin never loose his wicket  in his bowling that shows how  confident as a cricketer.

HISTORY OF CRICKET

The game of cricket has a known history spanning from the 16th century to the present day, with international matches played since 1844, although the official history of international Test cricket began in 1877. During this time, the game developed from its origins in England into a game which is now played professionally in most of the Commonwealth Of Nations

ORIGIN OF CRICKET

No one knows when or where cricket began but there is a body of evidence, much of it circumstantial, that strongly suggests the game was devised during saxon or norman times by children living in the Weald, an area of dense woodlands and clearings in south-east England that lies across Kent and Sussex.

DERIVATION OF THE NAME OF "CRICKET"

He name may have been derived from the Middle Dutch krick(-e), meaning a stick; or the Old English cricc or cryce meaning a crutch or staff.Another possible source is the Middle Dutch word krickstoel, meaning a long low stool used for kneeling in church and which resembled the long low Wicket with two Stumps used in early Cricket

FIRST DEFINITE REFERENCE

John Derrick was a pupil at The Royal Grammar School in Guildford when he and his friends played cricket circa 1550

CRICKET IN THE 21ST CENTURY (TODAY)

Today in the 21st century cricket has spread among most of the countries .In India cricket is the most watched game.
The advent of T20 Cricket and the wild success of the IPL in the first decade of the 21st century led to a period of great innovation in the game. The new, truncated form of the game privileged batting, partly by restricting the placement of fielders and shortening the boundaries. To counter free-scoring batsmen with heavy bats, bowlers began to perfect a great variety of different balls (deliveries). Disguise became an essential part of the bowler’s arm. Slow spin-bowling, which forces the batsman to generate “pace” (that is, to provide the bulk of the power to propel the batted ball, whereas fast bowling contributes more force to the batsman’s swing), proved a surprisingly effective weapon. Among the new shots that became commonplace for batsmen in T20 cricket was the reverse sweep, wherein a right-handed batsman, in mid-delivery, changes hands to swing at the ball like a left hander . Batters also began employing the scoop, a shot played almost vertically over the wicketkeeper’s head. Test cricket also benefited from these new techniques and from the new era of creativity, not least from the introduction of the doosra, a delivery disguised to look like an off-spinner that actually turns away from the right-handed batsman like a leg-spinner. Developed by the Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq and taking its name from the Urdu expression meaning “the other one,” the ball was perfected by Muttaiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka.
